Old Town's Chocolate Walk sells out despite heavy snow fall - WILX-TV

OLD TOWN LANSING, MI (WILX) - Valentine's Day is just under a week away, but that's not stopping a local group from spreading the love...the love of chocolate that is.

The Old Town Commercial Association is hosting its annual Chocolate Walk on Sunday.

Each ticket for this event receives a two pound box to fill with chocolate, a punch card and a map of participating businesses.

Despite Sunday's snow showers, the event was sold out, bringing in hundreds of people to Old Town.

"We do it every year it's right before Valentine's Day keep a look out," said Ben Dowd, the Old Town Commercial Association Board President. "It brings a good fun way for people to come out spend a little money, and it also brings people into our businesses that may not already shop those retailers."

All the money made from today's event goes back to support and build up Old Town.

Chocolate Walk in Plymouth spreads charity and change through downtown - WNDU-TV

PLYMOUTH, Ind. (WNDU) -- The second annual Chocolate Walk happened in downtown Plymouth on Saturday.

The event kicked off at the historic Marshall County Museum.

Nearly 150 people enjoyed all different types of chocolate from 25 different businesses around town.

The goal of the event was to help spread charity and change throughout downtown by dishing out some divine dessert.

"With 25 participants in the Chocolate Walk, that's 25 businesses you may not have known that were here in downtown, but there are actually 110 businesses in the downtown footprint of Plymouth… so there is something for everybody. There's all kinds of businesses here," explained Sandy Saenz with Discover Plymouth.

Part of the proceeds from the event will go to to the food and clothing pantry at the Marshall County Neighborhood Center.
