CJ Foodville Co., the food service unit of South Korea’s CJ Group, has been divesting both lucrative and money-losing franchise operations to venture into new businesses including kitchen-sharing.
업계에 따르면 CJ푸드빌은 조만간 공유 주방 업체와 파트너십을 맺고 새로운 공유 주방 전용 레스토랑간편식(RMR) 브랜드를 선보일 계획이다. 주요 온라인 식품 배송 업체(O2O)를 통한 레스토랑간편식 제품을 단순히 판매하는 데 그치지 않고 지역별 공유 주방을 활용해 보다 신선한 요리를 고객의 집까지 신속히 배달하겠다는 포부다. CJ푸드빌은 이르면 이달 파트너십을 체결할 예정이다.
Food industry sources said Monday that CJ Foodville plans to establish a partnership with a sharing kitchen business provider within this month to launch a new restaurant meal replacement brand. It aims to not only sell meal kits of fancy restaurant dishes through e-commerce platforms but also deliver freshly cooked meals to customers by utilizing sharing kitchens at each area.
재무구조 개선에도 속도를 내고 있다. 지난 3일 투썸플레이스의 잔여 지분 15% 매각을 완료한 CJ푸드빌은 이번에는 부동산 매각을 가속화한다. 작년 기준 CJ푸드빌이 보유하고 있는 토지와 건물의 장부가액은 각각 359억원, 576억원으로, 이 중에서도 토지를 매각해 추가 자금을 확보한다. 해당 토지는 지방 소재 빕스 매장 용지로 현재 원매자를 물색 중이다. CJ푸드빌은 지난해에도 보유 토지 일부를 제일제당에 넘겨 101억원가량 자금을 조달했다.
The company disposed of its remaining 15 percent stake in its coffee shop chain Twosome Place on July 3 and is selling off properties to improve financial structure. It held 35.9 billion won ($30 million) worth lands and 57.6 billion won worth buildings as of last year. It raised 10.1 billion won last year through land sales to its food making affiliate CJ CheilJedang.
앞서 CJ푸드빌은 투썸플레이스 매각을 통해 6000%에 달했던 부채비율을 300%대로 줄이는 데 성공했다. 향후 부동산 매각까지 순탄히 해낸다면 투썸플레이스 잔여지분 매각대금과 더불어 700억~800억원 자금의 순유입을 기대할 수 있다. 이때 순차입금은 1000억원 미만으로 떨어진다. 1000억원가량의 차입금 규모는 모회사인 CJ(주) 지원 등을 감안할 때 감당할 만하다는 게 전문가들 분석이다.
CJ Foodville significantly reduced its debt ratio from 6,000 percent to 300 percent through the sale of Twosome Place. Once recapitalized after the sale, its paid capital would be bumped up by 70 billion won to 80 billion won with net debt cut to below 100 billion won. Market experts say a debt of 100 billion won is manageable considering the financial power of its parent CJ Corp.
CJ푸드빌은 빕스와 계절밥상 등 주요 외식 브랜드 적자 매장을 정리하고 남은 매장은 특화매장으로 전환하는 작업을 진행 중이다. 현재 CJ푸드빌은 빕스 42곳, 계절밥상 13곳, 더플레이스 14곳, 제일제면소 14곳 등 전체 100여 곳에 달하는 외식 매장을 보유 중이다. 이들 중 적자가 큰 매장을 정리했고 추가로 일부 매장도 철수할 계획이다.
CJ Foodville has been rationalizing its restaurant and bakery brands. It closed down some of its restaurant chains VIPS and Season’s Table that had made losses and has now transformed the remaining restaurants into premium ones. It runs 42 VIPS, 13 Season’s Table, 14 The Place and 14 Cheiljemyunso outlets across the nation.
현재 CJ푸드빌 매출 중 절반가량(별도 기준)을 담당하고 있는 베이커리 브랜드 뚜레쥬르는 6일 제빵 업계 최초로 '구독 서비스'를 도입했다. 코로나19 여파로 활발해진 '배달'에 트렌드로 떠오른 '정기구독'을 더했다. 단순 배달을 해주는 서비스에 큰 폭의 할인까지 줘 정기 고객을 확보하겠다는 취지다.
Tous Les Jours, its bakery chain that generates about half of CJ Foodville revenue, launched ‘subscription’ service for the first time in the bakery industry on Monday, in which customers receive delivery of bread products at a discount on a regular basis.
