Berkeley Heights Municipal Complex Update for Week ending August 28, 2020 - TAPinto.net
Mayor Angie Devanney gives this week’s municipal complex update from the Young Adult section of the new library as building construction continues and exciting finishes are taking place. This past week, the masons were nearing completion of the veneer of the outside of the building; they will soon remove scaffolding and demobilize (meaning they will soon be finished with their work). Exterior landings at some stairways are being completed, as the carpenters are continuing to insulate, install grid and will soon close up the hard ceiling. Electricians have installed lights, switches, horn strobes, key pads, card readers, cover boxes and more. Site work continues outside to tie in sanitary lines, install underground storm systems, continue grading, and backfilling on certain parts of the building. Meanwhile, IT cabling pulls are underway; the second floor was finished Friday.
For the week ending August 28, 2020 at the Berkeley Heights Municipal Complex project site, the following took place:
- EPIC and their subcontractors had an average daily manpower count of 48 workers.
- Force Concrete neared substantial completed of the masonry veneer for the building and began disassembling scaffolding to prepare for demobilization. Force also poured concrete for the Stair #1 exterior steps and the dumpster pad.
- EUC continued underground storm and sanitary work on the south side, backfilled and compacted, and prepared to begin curbing in that area.
- Industrial Cooling Corporation ran the boiler flue to the roof, continued installation of air curtains, and progressed with duct work, controls, and HVAC finishes.
- Epic Interiors hung drywall and insulation, placed corner bead, taped and spackled, installed ceiling grid, and began closing up hard ceilings.
- Mehl Electric placed lighting, card readers, keypads, horn strobes, pull boxes, switches, and cover plates.
- All Ply Roofing installed DaVinci shingles on the north side of the east sector.
- Eighteen Glass continued with storefront and curtain wall glass.
